19th Century Bronze Marble-Top Rosewood Pedestal with Satyr and Snake Motif

This is a very unusual and very well executed solid bronze and rosewood pedestal. The pedestal has a removable Italian Portoro marble top. Under that top there is a bowl shapped area. The purpose of which is not know. The mysterious pedestal is beautifully made with expertly cast satyrs and even a bronze snake with a long tail. The piece measures 48 tall x 24 x 24 wide.
